Pricing + Info

  • Star Tile creates custom handmade ceramic tile for architectural installations. Each project is crafted to order in our Joshua Tree studio, with pricing reflecting the complexity of the design, the depth of the glaze, and the level of customization involved.

  • We are not a typical tile supplier. Our work is designed as architectural surface systems, intended for feature installations where the material can be experienced at scale.

  • Ideal applications include boutique hotel receptions, wellness spas, upscale retail environments, corporate lobbies, feature fireplaces and stairwells, restaurants, galleries and exhibition spaces, as well as residential kitchens and bathrooms.

  • Pricing ranges from 179–375USD per square foot.

  • Most projects fall within the 189–279 USD per square foot range, depending on design, glaze, and complexity.

  • Simpler field tiles sit at the lower end of the range, while more intricate and custom geometries are priced at the higher end.

Samples

  • We offer made-to-order samples to support your selection process.

  • You may choose between small-format glaze samples or full-sized tile samples. Due to the dimensional nature of our work, glazes respond uniquely to form and light, often revealing shifts in tone across the surface. As a result, glaze samples viewed on flat pieces may differ from their expression on fully dimensional tiles.

  • All samples are crafted to order. Delivery within the U.S. typically ranges from 5–9 business days.

Payment Terms

  • A 75% deposit is required to initiate production.

  • The remaining 25%, plus shipping and applicable sales tax, is due upon receipt prior to shipment.

  • We accept ACH, wire transfer, and Stripe.

  • Credit card payments incur a 3% processing fee.

Shipping +Additional Costs

  • Freight: Shipping costs are additional and will be added to the final balance prior to shipping.

  • Sales Tax: Applicable sales tax will be added where required.

  • We ship internationally.

Production + Lead Times

  • All of our tiles are handmade to order by our in-house artisans in Joshua Tree. We operate as a ceramic atelier rather than a volume-based supplier.

  • Because of this, we do not quote fixed lead times in weeks. Instead, projects are scheduled into our production calendar once scope, materials, and timing are aligned. Availability is reserved upon confirmation. We allocate production capacity in advance, and space is held only once a project is approved.

  • Once a project enters production, timelines typically range from 8–16 weeks, depending on scale, complexity, and current production volume. This is a working range, not a guaranteed turnaround, as material behavior and firing cycles require flexibility to ensure the integrity of the final result. That said, we understand timeline and will work as quickly and humanly possible.

  • Each piece is made to order, therefore we do not offer refunds once production has begun.

  • Tile installation, grout selection and ordering, and mesh mounting (for murals) are not included, though we are happy to support and guide your team as needed.

One-of-One Exclusive Offering

  • For select projects, we offer one-of-one tile design development, we offer a truly exclusive experience with our one-of-one designs.

  • If you have a nature-inspired design or geometry in mind and would like to see it brought to life on a tile, we can collaborate with you to create a custom tile design.

  • This is a more intricate process and typically requires a minimum of 12-16 weeks for development. After the design is finalized, production generally takes an additional 8-16 weeks, depending on the scope of the project and current production timelines.

  • Pricing for one-of-one custom designs starts at 375USD per square foot.

  • Each design is developed exclusively for the project and is not reproduced.
